Coconut Sugar Gluten Free Candy Recipes, Salted Caramel Candy
When you think about caramel it’s not far from a sugar loaded thing with a lot of butter. It surely is delicious and addicting, but when you eat it sometimes you can feel guilty. But don’t worry about these yummy caramels with a hint of sea salt, wrapped in wax paper, that you can make at home! They are Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo, Primal Friendly, Gluten-free, dairy-free and refined sugar-free!! This recipe is very simple, but keep in mind that making caramel is a little bit tricky. You have to really keep an eye on it every second, because it is really really easy to burn. But with a little practice you can easily master it. So here it is:
- Ingredients of Coconut Sugar Dairy Free Candy :
- 1 cup coconut sugar
- 1/4 cup Coconut Oil (unrefined)
- 1/8 cup Water, filtered
- 1/8 teaspoon Sea Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla
- How to Make Coconut Sugar Candy :
- Combine everything (except vanilla) in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally
- Using a candy thermometer, continue simmering/stirring to 250 degrees F. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla.
- Pour into a parchment paper lined small square/rectangle container and sprinkle some coarse sea salt (optional) then allow to cool.
- While your caramels are firm yet flexible, use Kitchen Shears to cut into pieces (long sticks or individual bite squares) and wrap individually in wax or parchment paper. Enjoy!!
- That’s literally it!
